Can't use it on the standard or "The 12" plans.

Yeah, that's fine though. Verizon's Allset plan is still 50% more
expensive than the Page Plus $30 plan for the same amount of LTE data.
Except that on Allset you get 1GB if you sign up for auto-pay.

Page Plus has better coverage than Verizon Allset. For example, Page
Plus roams in Alaska at extra cost (even though it's not shown on the
Page Plus coverage map) while Verizon shows no roaming in Alaska on
their map (though it's possible that Verizon's map is also wrong).
What's unique about Alaska is that they do have Verizon coverage, but
only LTE. Apparently Verizon could not get any 800 MHz or 1900 MHz
spectrum in Alaska but they were able to get some LTE spectrum and some
frequency. So hopefully Page Plus will now have data in Alaska over LTE.

Yeah, that's fine though.
No, it's not fine for those who want to use a more updated phone on
that plan.

I don't think that they are going to be forbidding the LTE phones on
those plans, they just won't offer LTE data on those plans.

It would be really hard for them to tell someone that was on the TNT
1200 plan that they could not keep the same phone and switch to "The 12"
or to pay as you go.

But I could be wrong.

That's what Kitty is saying. Only 3G phones can be activated on those lines

The $12 plan customers must either use a 3g phone as usual, or must
flash a 4g phone and purchase a PagePlus SIM card (if the phone
requires it). That flashing will still get them only 3g data, but
they'll be able to use a more modern 4g phone.

The frustration is in having to flash a phone to get the same service
on an updated phone.

Question now is: what are recommendable handsets for best (read: "most
economical") exploitation of this new opportunity? Moto E? G? X? HTC 1?
other? Thanks! Cheers, -- tlvp
