Comcast has apparently cracked down on customers that cancel service and
restart it with a different credit card to get an introductory offer.

Now the new account has to be in a different name, AND if you own a
DOCSIS modem you can't use it until one month after service starts (they
look at the identifying information). He suggested renting a modem for
one month.

I thought you wouldn't be able to cancel and sign up right away for a
better offer anyways.

When the prices go up I phone Comcast and threaten to go to Sonic. They
reduce the price.
