Video Streaming Subscription Services?

Does anybody here have a lead to a scalable video streaming service? The
idea is to start small with a few people receiving the stream. The stream
would be continuous from about 6am to 2am. I'm assuming that I'd be able to
run it off a computer into a Comcast connection or perhaps co-locate with
the streaming server. Video fidelity isn't that much of an issue given that
the content is compatible with 4:3 NTSC quality video or old movies.

Basically this is a personal project I'm thinking about doing, maybe turning
into a business. I'd also like it if the streaming service had some kind of
subscription interface so that people could join on a monthly basis.

Ideas anyone? Thanks.
