Looking for suggestions on what inexpensive DSL modem to buy.

The Century Link service is only 7Mbps so nothing fancy needed. No
router/wireless need either.

Local Best Buy stocks the DM111PSP modem so something like that would
probably work

That's what I've been using lately. Make sure you get the V2 version
and to update the firmware (1.1.00.09NA). About $15 to $20 on eBay:

The only problems I've had are with the power supplies, which seem to
produce bulging caps after about 3 years of running warm.
